Fortis Music is a platform built to give independent artists the tools they deserve — rights protection, fair monetization, and direct fan connection. No label needed.
Independent artists make up nearly 47% of the global music market — yet they receive the smallest share of revenue, have no reliable way to protect their rights, and rely on intermediaries who capture most of the value. Fortis Music exists to change that. We are building the infrastructure that gives every artist — regardless of size or label — the tools to own what they create, get paid fairly, and connect directly with the fans who support them.

Avatar, genres, and bio live in the profile editor. Profile visibility (public, members-only, or hidden) is set under Edit profile on your role page.
Download everything Fortis holds about your account as one JSON file: profile, registrations, certificates, sessions, messages, follows, events and activity.
This permanently deletes your profile and personal details, messages, follows, events, all uploaded audio files, and any contributions to sessions that are not yet finalized. This cannot be undone.
Finalized songs keep an anonymous authorship record (a cryptographic hash of your contribution) and the agreed split percentage. That record also belongs to your co-creators and cannot be removed without destroying their proof. It appears as "Deleted user" — no name, email, or other identifying details. Your audio file is still deleted. Donation amounts remain on the ledger for accounting, with no link to you. A registered work that is under an active ownership dispute is kept until the dispute ends.
You will be asked one more time before anything is removed.
Register a recording with its authors and owners, check any file against the registry, and prove that a certificate is genuine. All in one place.

Welcome to Fortis Music. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Fortis Music Group, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Fortis Music," "we," "us," or "our") and govern your access to and use of the Fortis Music platform, including our website, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, which are incorporated here by reference. These Terms contain a binding arbitration provision and a class action waiver in Section 17 that affect your legal rights. If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account and use the Platform. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate and complete. If we determine that you do not meet the eligibility requirements, we may suspend or terminate your account.
When you register, you choose a role that reflects how you intend to use the Platform (such as Artist, Fan, DJ, Beatmaker, Dance, Music Studio, Clubs/Bars, Events, Gear Store, Brand, or Label). You are responsible for providing accurate registration information and keeping it up to date, maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials, and all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for any loss arising from unauthorized use that results from your failure to keep your credentials secure.
You agree to use the Platform lawfully and respectfully. You will not: post, share, or transmit content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit involving minors, or that incites violence; impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity; upload content that infringes the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party; distribute spam, scams, malware, or engage in fraudulent activity; attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Platform, other accounts, or our systems; use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access or collect data from the Platform without our written permission; or interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Platform. Our Community Guidelines provide further detail. Violations may result in content removal, suspension, or permanent termination of your account.
You retain ownership of the content you create and upload to the Platform ("Your Content"), including profile information, music, images, videos, and messages. By posting Your Content, you grant Fortis Music a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute Your Content solely for the purpose of operating, providing, and promoting the Platform. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except to the extent that Your Content has been shared with others who have not deleted it, or where we are required to retain it by law. You are solely responsible for Your Content and represent that you have all necessary rights to post it and grant the license above.
The Platform, including its design, software, text, graphics, logos, and trademarks, is owned by Fortis Music or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding, trademarks, or proprietary materials without our prior written consent.
Fortis Music respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users to do the same. We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"). If you believe your copyrighted work has been used on the Platform in a way that constitutes infringement, you may submit a notice to our designated agent at info@fortismusic.co with: a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent; identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed; identification of the material claimed to be infringing and information reasonably sufficient to locate it; your contact information; a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner. If your content was removed and you believe it was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice to the same address. We will, in appropriate circumstances, disable or terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers.
To maintain a safe and respectful community, we may review content and take action against accounts that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines. Actions may include removing or restricting content, issuing warnings, temporarily suspending an account, permanently banning an account, or permanently deleting an account and associated data. We may take these actions in response to user reports, automated detection, or our own review. We are not obligated to provide advance notice before acting where we believe doing so is necessary to protect the community or comply with law.
Certain features of the Platform may, now or in the future, involve payments, donations, subscriptions, purchases, or payouts. Where such features are offered, additional terms (including those of our third-party payment processors) may apply, and you agree to comply with them. Fees and applicable taxes will be disclosed before you complete a transaction. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party payment processors.
The Platform may rely on or link to third-party services (such as hosting, storage, payment, identity verification, and analytics providers). Your use of those services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services or content.
You may stop using the Platform and delete your account at any time through your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or applicable law, or to protect the Platform or other users. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ends. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any content is accurate or reliable.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fortis Music and its officers, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of the Platform. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Platform will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred U.S. dollars (USD 100). Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, such as liability for fraud, intent or gross negligence, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Fortis Music from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Platform, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms or the rights of any third party.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as by posting a notice on the Platform or updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, except that the Federal Arbitration Act governs Section 17. If you use the Platform as a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.
Before filing a claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at info@fortismusic.co. If a dispute is not resolved within sixty (60) days, either party may bring a claim as set out below.
Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, rather than in court, except that you may assert claims in small claims court if your claims qualify. The arbitration will be governed by the Federal Arbitration Act. You and Fortis Music agree that each may bring claims against the other only in your or its individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to info@fortismusic.co within thirty (30) days of first accepting these Terms. To the extent applicable law does not permit arbitration of a particular dispute, that dispute will be resolved in the courts located in Delaware, United States. If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, this Section 17 does not apply to you: you may bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live, and you keep the protection of its consumer law.
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, are the entire agreement between you and Fortis Music regarding the Platform. Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later. Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
The Platform uses geographic location data derived from the countries-states-cities-database project by dr5hn. That database is licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL) v1.0. A copy of the attribution notice is also available in the repository at assets/geo/LICENSE. Other third-party software and assets used by the Platform are listed in the project license inventory.
Users can send each other booking requests (for example a show, a studio session, a venue, a rental, or a class). A booking is an agreement between the two users, not with Fortis Music. The price, payment, deposits, and any other conditions are agreed and settled directly between them, and the law that applies to that agreement is the law that applies between them. Fortis Music does not collect or hold payments for bookings. Fortis Music keeps a record of each step (request, acceptance, decline, new date proposed, moved, cancellation, and the reasons given) that both users can see.
Cancelling. Either user can cancel an accepted booking and must choose a reason. Instead of cancelling, either user can propose a new date, which the other user can accept or decline.
Booking record. A cancellation counts on the booking record of the user who cancels only if all of the following apply: the booking had been accepted; it is cancelled the day before or on the day of the booking (Central European time); the reason given is not an excused one (illness or emergency, equipment or room problem, or the other user asked to cancel); and the user had not first proposed a new date that the other user declined. The booking record shows the number of bookings and of counted and excused late cancellations in the last 12 months. Cancellations older than 12 months stop counting automatically. The booking record is never shown on a public profile. It is shown only to the user themself and to a user who has an open or accepted booking with them. Fortis Music does not decide on bookings based on the booking record; each user decides whether to accept a request.
Booking pause. The first counted cancellation within 12 months has no further effect. From the second counted cancellation within 12 months, the user cannot send or accept new booking requests for 30 days after the latest one. Existing accepted bookings stay in place and can still be answered, moved, or cancelled. If you think a cancellation was counted by mistake, contact us at info@fortismusic.co and we will review it.
What a registration proves. When you register a track, the Platform records a fingerprint (SHA-256) of the exact file, the time given by our server, your account, and the declaration you accept, word for word. A registration and its certificate show that this exact file existed at that time and was registered from your account. They do not prove who wrote or owns the work, and Fortis Music does not decide questions of authorship or ownership. A file can be registered only once.
Your declaration. By registering, you declare that you have the right to register the track and that the rights record you enter is true to the best of your knowledge. Registering a work you have no right to, or naming people falsely, breaks these Terms (Sections 3 and 13).
People you name. The rights record can name authors, owners of the recording, performers and the team. Name people accurately and only for the part they actually had. A person named who has a Fortis Music account is told and can confirm or decline; their name is shown publicly only after they confirm, and a decline is shown as a decline. The names of people without an account are never shown publicly; only the role and the share are. A change to a rights record is saved as a new version, and the people named confirm again.
Agreements. You can record an agreement (for example a split sheet or a producer agreement) by its fingerprint only. The file stays on your device; we store the type, the date and the fingerprint.
Artificial intelligence. You can record whether AI was used and reserve your work against use for training AI models. We show that reservation with the registration. We do not use Your Content to train generative AI models.
The public registry log. Registrations, certificates, rights records, confirmations and declines, disputes, counter-statements, deleted tracks and sent demos are added to a public log. Each entry carries a fingerprint of the one before it, so a later change to an old entry would show. The log holds fingerprints, dates and kinds of entry, not names or files, and its entries are kept permanently.
Disputes. Anyone can report a registration they believe infringes their rights (Section 6). A dispute does not delete the registration; it is added to the record of the work, and the other side can file a counter-statement. Fortis Music records both sides; courts decide.
You can delete a track you registered. We delete its audio file, cover and waveform, remove it from every page and from the Music Store, and withdraw its certificates; the public certificate page then says that the registrant withdrew it and when. The fingerprint, the time of registration, your declaration, the rights record and the confirmations of other people stay as evidence, and the fingerprint stays locked, so nobody can register the same file later. A track cannot be deleted while a dispute about it is open or while it is part of a release. People named in the rights record who have an account are told.
Signings and releases. A label shows an artist on its roster, and a release in its catalogue, only after both the label and the artist confirm. Either side can end the link later.
Demos. An artist can send a label a demo only from a track the artist registered. Only that label can play it, and the file cannot be downloaded through the Platform. By sending a demo, the artist lets that label listen to it for the purpose of considering it, nothing more. A label may not copy, share or publish a demo without the artist's separate agreement. The artist can withdraw a demo until it is signed. A record that a demo was sent is added to the public registry log as a fingerprint, without names or the file.
Users can message each other. In your profile settings you can turn off "Messages from new people"; then only people you are already connected with (people you wrote to, follow, have a booking, signing or demo with, or share an event lineup with) can message you. The same applies when your profile is hidden. Messages that Fortis Music sends itself about bookings and lineups are not affected.
You can report a profile through its "Report" option and report copyright infringement through the "Report copyright infringement" form. If we remove or restrict your content or account, we will tell you what we did and why, unless the law or the safety of others prevents it. You can ask us to review the decision by writing to info@fortismusic.co; a person, not only an automated system, will review it. Users in the European Union may also have other remedies under the Digital Services Act and national law.
If you have questions about these Terms, contact us at info@fortismusic.co.

This Privacy Policy explains how Fortis Music Group, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Fortis Music," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data when you use the Fortis Music platform (the "Platform"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly. This Policy is designed with both U.S. privacy law and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in mind. Contact: info@fortismusic.co.
Fortis Music Group, Inc., a Delaware corporation in the United States, is the controller responsible for your personal data processed through the Platform. Privacy contact: info@fortismusic.co.
Information you provide: account data (email address, password stored securely and never in plain text, full name, display name, and the role you select); profile data (avatar, cover image, biography, location, genres, links, and other details you choose to add); content (music, images, videos, messages, and other material you upload or send); and communications you send to other users or to us. Information collected automatically: usage data (how you interact with the Platform, pages viewed, actions taken) and technical data (IP address, browser type, device information, and similar identifiers). Information from third parties: where you use integrated third-party services (such as payment or identity verification providers), we may receive limited data from them as needed to provide the relevant feature.
We use your data to create and manage your account; operate, maintain, and improve the Platform; display your public profile and content to other users according to your visibility settings; enable communication between users; detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security issues, and violations of our Terms or Community Guidelines (including automated and manual content moderation); process payments and related features where offered; comply with legal obligations; and communicate with you about your account, security, and updates.
Booking record. When you use bookings, we keep the steps of each booking (request, acceptance, decline, new date proposed, moved, cancellation and the reason you choose) and count late cancellations as described in Section 20 of our Terms. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest, and that of the users you book with, in preventing fake bookings and repeated last-minute cancellations. The booking record covers the last 12 months and is shown only to you and to users with whom you have an open or accepted booking, never on your public profile. It is a count of facts, not a score, and no booking is accepted or declined automatically because of it. You can see your own booking record in Bookings, and you can ask us to correct it or object to it at info@fortismusic.co.
Registrations and rights records. When you register a track, we keep the fingerprint (SHA-256) of the file, the time, your account and the exact declaration you accepted, and the rights record you enter. A rights record can contain personal data about other people: their names (legal and credited), role, share, collecting society and IPI number. If someone named you in a rights record, they gave us that data; if you have a Fortis Music account, we tell you and you can confirm or decline. Your name is shown publicly only after you confirm; legal names, notes and the names of people without an account are shown only to the registrant and the people named. We process this data to keep a reliable record of who made what, on the basis of our legitimate interest and that of the people named, and to perform our contract with the registrant.
The public registry log. Registrations, certificates, rights records, confirmations and declines, disputes, counter-statements, deleted tracks and sent demos are added to a public log in which each entry carries a fingerprint of the one before it. An entry holds a fingerprint, a date, the kind of entry and a reference number, not names or files. Entries are kept permanently, because removing one would break the record for everyone; this is necessary to establish and defend legal claims (GDPR Article 17(3)(e)).
Agreements. If you record an agreement in a rights record, only its fingerprint, type and date leave your device. We never receive the file.
Demos. When you send a demo to a label, that label sees the track, your note and your public profile, and can play the track; it cannot download it through the Platform. We keep the demo and the label's answer until you or the label delete your account.
Plays and profile views. When a track is played, we record the track, the time and, if you are logged in, your account. Artists and labels see only totals (for example plays in the last 30 days), never who listened; your own plays count toward your fan level. Profile views are counted without your account, with a country guessed in your browser from its language setting; your IP address is not sent to any outside service for this.
"I was there" check-in. If you check in at an event by location, your device sends its location once; we use it to measure the distance to the venue and store only that distance in metres, not your location.
Your acceptance of our terms. We record which version of the Terms of Service you accepted and when (the time comes from our server), at sign-up and each time you accept an updated version. We keep this record for as long as your account exists, as proof of the agreement between us.
Who can message you. If you turn off "Messages from new people," we check, when someone writes to you, whether you are already connected (you wrote to them, you follow them, or you share a booking, signing, demo or event lineup).
Where GDPR applies, we process your data on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the Platform and features you request); legitimate interests (to secure the Platform, prevent abuse, and improve our services, balanced against your rights); consent (where required, withdrawable at any time); and legal obligation (where we must process data to comply with the law).
To keep the community safe, content on the Platform (including messages and profile content) may be reviewed and may be subject to automated analysis to detect spam, harassment, hateful content, and other violations. This may result in content being flagged, hidden, or removed, and may contribute to enforcement actions on accounts. Where automated tools are used, meaningful human review is available for significant enforcement decisions.
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only as follows: with other users (your public profile and content are visible according to your visibility settings); with service providers (trusted third parties for hosting, storage, payment processing, identity verification, and analytics, who process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards); for legal reasons (where required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Fortis Music, our users, or the public); and in a business transfer (if Fortis Music is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy).
Our service providers today: Supabase (database, file storage and login; servers in Frankfurt, Germany), Netlify (delivery of the website) and Resend (e-mail). We will update this list before we add another provider, such as a payment processor or an identity verification provider.
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where we transfer data outside the European Economic Area, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as standard contractual clauses, consistent with applicable law.
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Platform. When you delete a registered track, we delete its audio file, cover and waveform, remove it from every page and withdraw its certificate; the fingerprint, the time of registration, your declaration and the rights record stay as evidence (GDPR Article 17(3)(e)), and the certificate's public page says it was withdrawn. When you delete your account, we delete your profile and personal details, messages, follows, events, uploaded audio files, and contributions to sessions that are not yet finalized. For finalized songs, we retain an anonymous authorship record (a cryptographic hash of your contribution) and the agreed split percentage so co-creators keep their proof of ownership; that record shows as "Deleted user" and contains no name, email, or other identifying details. Donation amounts may remain on the ledger for accounting obligations, without a link to you. Other records may be retained where required by law, to resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or enforce our agreements. Records relating to moderation actions may be retained as needed for safety and legal purposes. Entries in the public registry log are kept permanently (Section 3).
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate or incomplete data; delete your data ("right to be forgotten"); restrict or object to certain processing; receive your data in a portable format; withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. You can exercise many of these rights directly through your account settings, including permanently deleting your account and associated data. For other requests, contact info@fortismusic.co.
Depending on your U.S. state of residence (for example, California, Virginia, Colorado, and others), you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it; to access and delete your personal information; to correct inaccurate information; and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and of targeted advertising. We do not sell your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact info@fortismusic.co. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
We use technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including secure authentication, access controls, and encryption where appropriate. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to address security issues promptly.
The Platform is not intended for individuals under 18, or under the age of legal majority in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that we have collected such data, we will delete it.
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as by posting a notice on the Platform or updating the "Last updated" date.
For any privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact us at info@fortismusic.co.

They exist to keep Fortis Music a safe, respectful, and creative space. By using Fortis Music, you agree to follow these Guidelines. Breaking them can lead to content removal, a temporary suspension, or a permanent ban, depending on how serious the violation is.
Be respectful. Be real. Support the community. Don't harm others.
Respect other people. Treat others the way you'd want to be treated. Disagreements are fine; cruelty is not. Be authentic. Be yourself, and don't impersonate other artists, brands, or people. Support creativity. Fortis Music exists because of the people who create and support music. Lift each other up.
Harassment and bullying. No targeting, threatening, intimidating, or repeatedly contacting someone who doesn't want to hear from you. Hate speech. No content that attacks or demeans people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any similar characteristic. Violence and threats. No threats of violence, incitement to harm, or glorification of violence. Sexual content involving minors. Absolutely prohibited, with zero tolerance. We act on this immediately and report it to the appropriate authorities. Impersonation. Don't pose as another person, artist, or organization, or misrepresent your identity to deceive others. Spam and scams. No mass unsolicited messaging, fake engagement, phishing, fraud, or deceptive schemes. Illegal activity. Don't use the Platform to commit or promote illegal acts. Intellectual property violations. Don't upload or share music, images, video, or other material you don't have the right to use. Respect copyright and the rights of other creators. Malicious behavior. No malware, hacking, attempts to break the Platform, or unauthorized access to other accounts. Privacy violations. Don't share someone else's private information without their consent.
Register only music you have the right to register. Name people in a rights record truthfully, with the role and share they really had, and never name someone to borrow their reputation. Do not file a dispute you know to be false, and do not use disputes to pressure people. Send demos only of your own music. If you are a label, keep demos you receive private: listen, answer, and do not copy or pass them on. A record of who registered, named, confirmed, disputed or sent what stays permanently in the public registry log.
If you see something that breaks these Guidelines, report it. Every profile has a Report option, copyright infringement has its own form, and reports go to our moderation team for review. Reporting in good faith helps keep the community safe. Don't abuse the reporting system with false or malicious reports.
When something is reported or detected, we review it and decide on an appropriate response. Depending on the severity and history, we may remove or restrict the content, issue a warning, temporarily suspend the account, permanently ban the account, or in serious cases permanently delete the account and, where required, involve authorities. We aim to be fair and consistent. Serious violations, especially those involving safety, can result in immediate removal without prior warning.
If you believe an enforcement action was a mistake, you can contact us at info@fortismusic.co. We'll review the situation. Keeping a record of moderation actions helps us review appeals fairly.
